Not just another girl

He was the star of everyone’s eye,
And she was just normal girl of his life.
She passed by him every day,
But he never noticed, because of the shine
That came through the Barbie’s standing beside.

Sick and tired of being in shoes of what others wanted,
He was searching for someone who can admire,
That he loves poetry and things that talk about emotions
But he knew, to the eyes of the crowd he lives in,
There is no one who will understand his desire.

So, he kept the real him, hidden deep inside his heart,
But his eyes were in constant search of the one,
Who wasn’t just another girl, and different from the lot.

And one fine day,
He saw her auditioning, for high school singing competition.
She wasn’t a princess nor like those Barbie models
Eyes hidden behind huge specs and
Like a little kid, hanged to her shoulder, a little water bottle.

Charmed by her voice, he went into some other world,
Could see no one else, but just him and her,
Right away he knew she is the one,
Who will be different and not just like some other girl.

He tried to talk but she refused,
She said “Why a hunk like you, wants to talk to a nerd?”
He said “Let me tell you why,
               you are a different sky,
a sky that leads to heaven,
and invisible to a normal eye”

Listening to this, she blushed and ran away,
She didn’t have a word to say,
Because everything was just magical,
Like some beautiful fairy-tale.

Few days later, he asked her out,
She couldn’t believe her luck and said in surprise, “Now?”
He said “Yes, but please don’t say no, don’t let this precious moment go.”
Blushing she said “Yes, why not! I waited for this moment from so long.”

They went out and had a great day.
He drops her back home and walked her to the door, and says “I wish I could stop this moment right here somehow.”
She whispers in his ears “Freeze this moment right here, kiss me now.”
He kisses on her cheeks and whispers back,
“I finally found what I have been looking for, not just another girl, but my soul-mate, my love.”
